The **Horner Micro OCS Series** is a range of compact, cost-effective **all-in-one industrial controllers** combining a powerful PLC, colour touchscreen HMI, built-in I/O and industrial communications in a single unit. Available with **4-inch, 7-inch and 10-inch colour touchscreen displays**, the Micro OCS Series provides a complete automation solution for machine control, pumping systems, HVAC, water treatment, food processing, packaging, OEM equipment and a wide variety of industrial applications. By integrating the **PLC, HMI, I/O and communications** into one compact controller, the Horner Micro OCS can significantly reduce panel space, wiring, installation time and overall system cost compared with traditional systems using separate PLCs, operator panels and I/O modules.
All three models use the same basic control platform, making it easy to select the display size best suited to the application while maintaining a common programming environment.
At the heart of every Micro OCS is an integrated logic controller capable of handling demanding machine and process control applications. Instead of installing and programming separate PLC and HMI components, the Micro OCS provides the control logic and operator interface within the same unit.
One of the major advantages of the Micro OCS Series is its comprehensive **built-in I/O**. Standard configurations provide up to **30 integrated I/O points**, including digital inputs and outputs, high-speed I/O and analogue inputs and outputs. Two principal I/O configurations are available.
This combination of digital, high-speed and analogue I/O makes the Micro OCS suitable for many machines and control systems without requiring additional I/O modules.
Where the built-in I/O is not sufficient, the Micro OCS can be expanded using Horner remote and distributed I/O solutions. Expansion can be achieved through **CAN, Ethernet and serial communications**, depending on the required architecture and I/O system. This allows a Micro OCS to begin as a compact standalone controller and expand as the requirements of the machine or process increase.
Despite its compact size and competitive price, the Micro OCS provides the processing capability required for a wide variety of industrial control applications.
The X4, X7 and X10 provide fast logic execution of approximately **0.4 ms per K of logic**, making the Micro Series suitable for applications requiring responsive machine and process control.
The Micro OCS includes **high-speed I/O** as part of its standard onboard I/O configuration.
High-speed outputs can also be used for applications requiring accurate pulse control.
The X4, X7 and X10 feature bright colour touchscreen displays, allowing the controller to provide a complete local operator interface without requiring a separate HMI.
Up to **250 display pages** can be configured, providing considerable flexibility when developing operator interfaces for more sophisticated machines and processes.
The Micro OCS provides a wide range of communications options for connection to variable speed drives, soft starters, instrumentation, remote I/O, PLCs, SCADA systems and other industrial equipment.
This extensive communications capability allows the Micro OCS to operate as both a machine controller and an important communications gateway within an automation system.
Ethernet connectivity on the X4, X7 and X10 allows the Micro OCS to communicate with other automation equipment and plant networks.
Support for protocols such as **Modbus TCP and EtherNet/IP** makes integration with third-party automation equipment straightforward.
The Micro OCS supports Horner's remote connectivity technologies, including **WebMI**.
Remote access can provide maintenance personnel, operators and system managers with valuable visibility of equipment without requiring them to be physically located at the machine. The latest Micro OCS firmware also supports integration with **Horner OCS360**, providing additional options for remote connectivity and management.
The entire Micro OCS application is developed using **Horner Cscape programming software**.
Rather than using separate software packages for the PLC and HMI, the complete Micro OCS application can be developed and maintained within a single Cscape project. Cscape supports Horner's powerful Advanced Ladder programming as well as IEC 61131 programming languages, providing the flexibility required for both straightforward and sophisticated automation applications.
The Micro OCS Series has been specifically designed to provide maximum functionality in a compact package. Its slim construction reduces the amount of space required inside the control panel while the integrated architecture eliminates many of the separate components normally required in a PLC-based control system. This makes the Micro OCS particularly attractive for **OEM machine builders and compact control panels** where both panel space and overall system cost are important.
The **Horner Micro OCS Series** combines the functionality normally provided by several automation components into one compact and economical package. With a **PLC, colour touchscreen HMI, built-in digital and analogue I/O, high-speed control and extensive industrial communications**, the Micro OCS provides an ideal control platform for standalone machinery, pumping systems, process equipment and OEM automation.
